Since its inception in 1962, Salmet GmbH & Co. KG has not only been recognized as a leading company in the manufacture of poultry equipment but also as one of the main egg producers in Germany. This duality in its corporate nature has allowed Salmet to perfectly understand the needs of the poultry industry from a unique perspective: that of a producer using its own products.
A journey through time.
Originally located in Frankfurt am Main, the company was founded by Salopian Metals Ltd. and other prominent industry professionals. From the production of its first components in a modest garage in 1962, the firm has come a long way:
1964 marked the move to a new production plant, complete with offices and meeting rooms. The team of ten employees began to grow steadily.
Throughout the 60s and 70s, Salmet expanded its facilities, including additional production plants and areas specializing in welding and galvanizing.
1993 was a historic year, not only for Germany with the fall of the Berlin Wall but also for Salmet, which acquired a new location in Berge.
Moving forward, the company continued its expansion with the opening of offices in different regions, including Latin America with an office in Panama in 2016.
Innovation has been a constant for Salmet. In 2019, they introduced the Salmet iCenter, and in subsequent years, expanded their facilities and opened offices in Asia.

Salmet’s offer is diverse and adapts to the changing needs of the poultry market. From cage-free systems, such as aviaries and enriched systems, to conventional laying systems, Salmet strives to offer advantageous and efficient solutions. They have also developed specialized systems for light breeders and broilers, and complementary products for manure treatment. A notable example of the latter is their innovative poultry litter composting system, which allows transforming poultry manure into a valuable organic fertilizer. This system not only optimizes waste management but also contributes to a more sustainable and profitable agriculture model.

Recently, Salmet welcomed Ignacio Navarro as Regional Business Manager for Asia. With extensive experience in sales, business development, and market growth in poultry and agribusiness, Nacho joins the Salmet team to further drive growth in Asia.
